The band met at the University of the Philippines and are members of other bands, got along, and thought of whipping up a jam session that eventually resulted in the formation of Aki. Since its formation July of 2007, Aki has played gigs at Freedom Bar, Kublai's Katipunan, Club Dredd and around QC. ThumbInterActiv and Blue Fish Asia, strong advocates of making the Filipino music and artistry available around the world through internet technology, are spearheading the very first Philippine Digital Music and Short Film Festival and Awards via different digital platforms. We would like to extend our sincerest intention to invite you to be a part of this ground breaking event of the Digital Age for Filipinos in the music and arts industry.
Our objective and purpose for creating this event is primarily to:
1. Combat piracy by introducing digital downloading of Filipino contents
2. Give equal opportunity to Filipino artists make money while they broadcast their music and arts over the internet and other platforms
3. To open the medium between the music industry, Content Provider’s Telecommunications and the end-users with wide variety of downloadable music such as ring back tones, full tracks, true tones, polytones, etc)
4. Give record labels and publishers a borderless earning avenue in selling music to consumers,
5. Give consumers high quality licensed music
6. A transparent and wide scoped contest and awarding since it will be available for voting and downloading globally through world wide web and SMS.
This is a web based contest and shall run for 6 months including the preparation time and shall be concluded with a grand event which will be held tentatively at the World Trade Center. All entries shall be made available on the web portal of www.phildigiawards.com/www.digijooze.com and portals of telecommunication companies for mobile downloading. Awards are segmented in different categories and the criteria, therefore chances of winning are high.
In this regard, we would like to invite you to be part of this event by submitting your favorite entries. As the organizer, we will provide you real time accounting and monitoring page in the web site to monitor their download performances until the end of contest duration. Rest assured that we will protect your rights as the owner of the contents.
